Sénat

L’union sacrée contre Boko haram

C’est au palais de Congrès de Yaoundé, que les sénateurs se sont alignés de manière officielle dans la lutte contre Boko Haram, lors de l’ouverture de la première session ordinaire de l’année législative 2015 tenue ce jeudi 12 mars.

C’est debout comme un seul homme que les membres du sénat ont montré leur soutien dans le combat contre la secte Boko Haram. Prenant la parole pour lancer le début des travaux, le doyen d’âge de la chambre, Chief Victor Mukete n’a pas manqué de souligner l’harmonie qui règne entre les membres du parlement dans le soutien sans réserve qu’ils apportent au combat que mène le Cameroun contre cette secte terroriste. «C’est ensemble que nous devons lutter contre le terrorisme, ce fléau qui sévit aujourd’hui en Afrique et dans plusieurs parties du monde. L’implication de notre parlement à la tenue du dernier sommet extraordinaire au conseil de paix et de sécurité de l’Afrique Centrale (Copax) exprime la volonté de toutes les camerounaises et tous les camerounais de travailler ensemble pour la préservation de la paix et de la sécurité dans notre pays» appui-t-il.  

Une idée partagée par l’ensemble des sénateurs qui dans la lutte pour retrouver la paix, compte apporter un plus pour que cette nébuleuse n’empêche l’avancée vers le développement du Cameroun. Selon le sénatrice Okala, il y a beaucoup d’argent dépensé, de stresse chez tous les camerounais en général, et l’espoir demeure dans le fait de retrouver au plus vite la paix pour que tous les camerounais puisse poursuivre la marche vers l’émergence. «Comme tout le monde, nous sommes déterminé à éradiquer cette secte Boko Haram. De ce fait nous avons planché sur ce combat et tous les sénateurs sont debout comme une seule personne pour lutter contre Boko Haram. Que ce soit financièrement, que ce soit dans les prières ou bien physiquement nous sommes prêts à cela» souligne la sénatrice Marlise Aboui.

D’après le sénateur Pierre Flambeau Ngayap, le fait que la secte Boko Haram vient de prêter allégeance à l’état islamique, justifie encore plus l’engagement de l’ensemble de la communauté nationale dans l’extermination de ce fléau et le soutien au chef de l’Etat. «Le sénat doit également être présent sur le terrain, effectivement dans le concours matériel à apporter aux populations victimes des agressions et également le soutien aux soldats qui sont au front. Les soldats qui représentent la nation et qui viennent de toutes les régions du Cameroun. Le sénat est entrain de tabler sur les questions pratiques par rapport à sa contribution dans la lutte contre Boko Haram» soutient-il.

Pour l’heure les sénateurs entendent élire le plus rapidement possible le Président du sénat et les membres du bureau afin de se tourner pleinement vers les nouveaux défis de l’heure donc celui de l’éradication de la secte Boko Haram. Ainsi, les attentes restent nombreuses quant au choix des membres du bureau du sénat. Selon certains sénateurs rencontrés, le sénat qui va être élu devrait être un bureau qui regroupe l’ensemble des partis politiques présents au sénat et qui continue l’œuvre engagée par le bureau sortant.
