Inauguration of the Patriarch Neophyte, head of the national patriarchate of Bulgaria.

The inauguration of the Patriarch Neophyte, head of the national patriarchate of Bulgaria; was framed by rallies against high utility bills. Due to fear of clashes between the politicians attending the religious event and the protesters, riot units were located near strategic points, such as the parliament and the offices of the power utility company CEZ.

By the end of the procession towards the Alexander Nevski cathedral, protesters crossed through the place where the Patriarch and attendees were previously located. No clash occurred and the protesters just continued their rally towards the center.
